The sports world is mourning the loss of a true football legend. Former All-Pro offensive lineman Larry Allen passed away on Sunday while on vacation with his family in Mexico. He was 52.
Allen, inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2013, was a cornerstone of the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line during his career. Known for his incredible strength and athleticism, Allen was a member of the NFL All-Decade Team for both the 1990s and the 2000s. According to the Dallas Cowboys’ official website, Allen is one of only three players in team history to achieve double-digit Pro Bowl selections, with ten Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro selections to his name while playing for the Cowboys. He finished his illustrious career with the San Francisco 49ers, earning his 11th Pro Bowl selection in 2006.

In 2019, Allen was recognized as one of the NFL’s Top 100 players, one of only seven guards to earn this prestigious honor. His legacy as one of the game’s greatest offensive linemen is firmly cemented, and his impact on the sport will be remembered for generations.
