Los Angeles, CA — In a significant move, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed paperwork to legally remove “Pitt” from her last name. The petition was submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 27, the day Shiloh turned 18, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
Shiloh, who now seeks to be known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, is the third-eldest of the former couple’s six children. Born in Swakopmund, Namibia, on May 27, 2006, Shiloh has made a name for herself, including performing as a voice actor in the film “Kung Fu Panda 3.”

This legal action marks a significant step for Shiloh, making her the first of her siblings to file for a legal name change. However, according to the Times, some of her siblings have already dropped the public use of their father’s last name in recent years. The Jolie-Pitt siblings include Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
The name change comes amid ongoing legal disputes between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, but the finalization of the divorce has been prolonged due to complex litigation. The actors, who tied the knot in August 2014, have engaged in various lawsuits against each other, particularly over shared business ventures and properties, including a contentious battle over a winery in France.
Shiloh’s decision to remove “Pitt” from her name underscores the continuing personal and legal challenges within the Jolie-Pitt family. As she steps into adulthood, this name change may symbolize a new chapter for Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, distinct from the shadow of her parents’ high-profile relationship and subsequent split.
